Ah Ginny-bog! (click, click) Ah Ginny-bog! (click click)

Quick, name that tune. It's Ellie's version of one of the songs we danced to with my girls as part of my first "official" workout.

I found out three things:

1. My Pon de Replay dance looks much better in my head than it does in real life

2. Iko Iko is my new favorite song as it is the only one I can do perfectly and kick everyone's trash on.

3. Watching me dance gives my daughters huge boosts of positive self image because they are definitely better dancers than I am. And if laughter is the best medicine, they certainly got their dose yesterday.

But hey, burning 310 calories in 45 minutes and having a good giggle with my kids...that's what I call FUN.

We played Just Dance 2 (one of my daughters used her babysitting money to buy it, and I have to say I think it was well worth her money). Which song/dance is your best one?

P.S. I think I pulled a kidney.

P.P.S. Mama needs a cupcake

So we were the last ones to the Wii party, which meant we had an over-generous Christmas anyway, but when my SIL brought Just Dance to our Christmas dinner at my mother's I knew Santa wasn't done. I went out and bought it the very next day. I haven't been through the entire playlist, but so far my favorite is the Ting Tings' That's not my name. And Iko Iko.

Oh and my 15-year-old totally kicks everyone's trash.

I want some of these games. But living in a top floor condo, I always feel bad for getting my groove thing on.

That's not my name is Eleanor's fave for sure. The girls also like Toxic.
They also like Iko Iko, and Tik Tok but I HATE that one. My favorite is Hey Ya.
My kids are exposed to more 'pop' music as a result of this game--it makes me laugh. The game is rated 10+ because some of the lyrics are a bit much for a 7 year old. I can turn the lyrics off, at least. There's just something wrong with hearing a 7 year old sing about having a bottle of Jack.
And I am the Queen!!!!! at my house. Their goal is to be my scores.
In fact, despite the fact it's the Sabbath, that will likely be my exercise routine this AM.

Just topped 3 of Eleanor's high scores, and she is giving me the 'stink eye'. If it motivates her to work harder, is that so wrong?
5 stars on the Bollywood number, thank you....thank you very much...

Dalene - What an absolutely fun Christmas for you. The other song Ellie was singing yesterday was "They call me Quaikya, but I don't like ya" her version of the Ting Tings.

KP - your neighbors should be so lucky as to have you getting your groove thing on.

EW - I saw that Bollywood number and thought of you and Annie - true story. I'm going to try my hand at it later today. I can't tell you the kick my girls get out of beating my score. Also the 11 yo and her friend rewrote all the lyrics to the TikTok song and have had me videoing them all weekend. my fave line they rewrote regards that bottle of jack - it's now a bottle of paste (toothpaste to be exact)

Just Dance2 has inspired all sorts of movement and creativity in this house and I don't see anything wrong with that. After all, the family that dances together, stays together (while laughing their guts out).

Giggling is so under-rated.

Great way to start off your return to the work out scene!

We have Just Dance and love it too, though I am way exhausted after just one song--and I work out! Yay for a bit of groovin' with your girls!

I have no idea what you're talking about! Is it a dance/exercise game? Anything like Dance Dance Revolution? If so, I need to know. I love DDR!

We played that with my family over Christmas and had so much fun we bought our own copy, plus the kids one. SUCH a blast.

We played it for our FHE activity, I even got one of the kids, who didn't want to play, involved. Success all around.
