Second verse, same as the first

So tonight as I was doing Nicole's hair in ringlets (for a visit to the Draper Temple Open House), Ellie looked up and said Oh, slinkies! I want slinkies in my hair too.

Earlier in the week she made this observation Mom, you are almost growing down. When I grow up my name will be mommy and when you grow down, we'll call you Ellie.

Just how old does she think I am?

Where does she come up with this stuff? Seriously. I'd love to be able to see what's going on in my children's head sometimes - to see how their hought processes get them to certain conclusions.

Too cute!

My Ellie is always talking about "when I am a big mommy". She is so funny!

"Slinkies" - that is absolutely darling. That's a keeper. :)

She's so, so smart and so, so cute.

Rose likes to trade roles and have me pretend I'm her daughter, but once I start whining for popsicles or candy or protesting that I don't want a nap, it usually seems to distress her a little bit and she asks to switch back. I think the part that distresses her is having to say "no" to me as her.

It's funny, but when we're role playing with dolls or animals, Ellie always has the mommy say yes. But when it's the two of us and I'm being Hailey Johnson and she's being the mom, she loves trying out the word No.

She is always very sweet about it-
Oh Hailey, I don't fink so. Not this time. Maybe later.
