Our day started at 8 am. Got Ty ready and drove with my mom up to Shriner's for a simple 10 minute procedure (hint: that equates to a minimum of 5 hours in medical time). We arrived at 10 am, Ty went back to the OR by noon, and we saw him again about 2:30. Despite trying to get out of surgery by puking all morning (we are so on to him), he looked the best he ever has right after anesthesia.
While he was under, the doctor injected his obturator nerve with phenol in hopes of loosening the tone in his leg. He also shot the hip joint with steroids and numbing agent. By tomorrow we'll know if it's helping him any.
