We had a family night: mandatory togetherness, bonding over spiritual thoughts and sweet treats.
Each person took their dipped apple and pressed their topping of choice into the gooey caramel.
We haven't done this before. Ever. We only had one casualty - the Halloween sprinkles (no big loss if you ask me), I'm sure I will still be sweeping up a stray sprinkle or two come Christmas dinner. And I am sure we will do this again.
It was a hit, except that maybe Macintosh apples aren't the best choice for pairing with caramel. Oh well, even mamas gotta keep on larnin' new stuff.
Not the least of which is this, if you tell a 5 year old that she can have something, anything in the whole book store if it costs less than $3, well then she will turn it into her own personal quest. Until finally, success is found in a packet of erasers.
How are you celebrating the nippy weather?
