The drapes in the family room are up. I still need to purchase tassels and tie backs, but they're here and they made it up in time for the family gathering (thanks Tammy). Oh, and we're all still looking at the space on the wall where the clock used to hang trying to figure out what time it is. Note to self: buy new clock.
Now I realize that such a bold (and black) fabric is not for everyone, but I love it. Next decision: use the leftovers to make three large throw pillows or one long bolster? We're accenting with a tone on tone rust colored fabric. The room is getting closer to done.
Here is how Ty's room turned out. We decided to convert the living room into Ty's bedroom since he's too big (and unbendy) to get down the hallway. His new (gorgeous) bed rolls in and out - family room by day and front room by night. These are exterior french doors with blinds between the glass. I love them and wish all my windows had them so I wouldn't ever have to dust window blinds again -not because I'm lazy or anything, I'd just rather be saving the world than dusting.
This is his new closet (for resale it looks just like fancy schmancy library shelves). With luck, it won't take me another 10 years to figure out how to fill/decorate the shelves. And can we all pretend that everything stays dusted in there? Because I am busy with my world-saving.
