Imagine a lovely beach photo here
Because that is where we intended to go today. Really, we did.
But the night before we left for our trip (one last hurrah for sand and sun and an inaugural Disney experience for Ellie), I stumbled across a dealership for wheelchair adapted vehicles that just happened to be an hour from where we'd be staying. AND just happened to have demo vehicles of nearly every type of adapted vehicle there is out there.
AND it isn't in Michigan. Not that I have a problem with Michigan, in general, (okay I do) I just don't want to schlep Ty's wheelchair out to the armpit of the automotive world and then not find something - or if I do find something I do not want to have to drive it back through NEBRASKA. You know?
Anyway, I do not believe in coincidences. I have been trying to make up my mind and researching our options for the past four years. Ty has outgrown our current ride and it is decision time! So we stopped by for what we thought would be a 30 minute detour on our way to sunnier, sandier pastures.
Instead we stayed the better part of the afternoon and may have found something that will actually accommodate Ty's wheelchair (and the entire family) that is NOT a bus. I repeat: NOT a bus! You can bet your sweet life that I'm very happy about the prospect of no bus driving/parking in my future.
Seriously, who wouldn't rather visit the beach and drive home through southern Utah? I'm already sold. Please cross your fingers, say a little prayer, (whatever it is you do) that this will work out for us.
