Which is better?

One?

Or two?

One?

Or two?

I know the colors in this quilt in combination with those of my blog are probably hurting your eyes right now, but I'd like some advice. The local quilt group went on a retreat this week and due to Ty's being home-bound right now I stayed home and held my own personal quilt retreat day. It's not the same, but it was better than just sitting here staring at the ceiling.

So my question is which fabric would you use for the little border and which one for the outer border? There are still some 4 inch circles to be appliqued randomly on the outer border and some of the quilt squares, so keep that in mind.

Help me, please? You're my only hope.

two...but I don't know that I would trust my opinion on anything to do with sewing.

What pattern are the 4 inch circles? If they're all different patterns, I'd say one.

Beautiful, bright colors!

I like one. A solid boarder always looks good against a busy center for contrast.

I saw one and loved it until two came up. I think two even though it is kind of busy. Really either would be way cute.

I prefer one. I hope you're enjoying your quilt!

I prefer the solid, and I LOVE LOVE LOVE your background and want to steal it. I adore paisley, ya know.

My vote is for #2. That way you have awesome patchwork/solid/print with the solid giving the eyes a break from the patchwork. If the print is near the patchwork it blends in too much. There is my opinion! Now, good luck deciding!

They both look nice, but I think the circles would stand out on one and it also makes the border look like a frame.

I loved one, it creates a nice border for the quilt. You are soooo good, I'm jealous.

Now, see? I was going to say one!!
But then I went with the exact opposite of what I thought because I.don't.sew.or.quilt.

I WANT to say one but find myself drawn to two. You'll do what's right--I have total faith!

You guys are no help at all! ;) I like them both, too - but I can only have it one way.

ooohhh! I love quilting. I'd say #1 because you need the solid to rest the eye. The patterns in the quilt will actually stand out more if you do the solid border, in my opinion.

However, #2 wouldn't look BAD or anything- I just like #1 better.

i would choose #1. But my vote is tainted by my "lack of ever finishing a project". :)

Every time I come over here I'm just in awe of how beautiful your quilts are. I really need to get my act together and have you help me.

I think one is the best choice but it really could go either way & be fine.

That is so darling! My first pick was one, but they both look so darn cute. You can't lose!

I like the striped border best, but if you are adding circles to the border the plain or solid one would look better. Just my thoughts

Cut out some of your circles and put them on the stripe and the plain. That way I can decide based on how they show up.

Awww too bad you had to miss out on the retreat, but your home-retreat had FABULOUS results! I LOVE number 1, it looks BEAUTIFUL. You truly have a talent!

Wow, what talent! I chose one. Is it for me?!?! How thoughful!

I really like #2 ~ the small strip of solid breaks it up just a bit, but all together it looks finished and polished. At least that is my opinion ;).

I like the first one because it doens't take aways from the beauty of your quilt. But either way will be good! Let us know what you pick! Keep up the great Blogs!

Another vote for one... Love the colors; I think that #2/stripes takes away from the main focus of the interior works...JMHO...LOL

Beautiful work and great blog... As Arnold once said "I'll be back..."

I love 2. The trend now days it to go busy, and since your inside is busy, I would do the stripes in the border. But then you mentioned the circles. If you are going to do the circles then I would do the solid in the border and you will move the business to the border with the random circles using the busy fabric.

Just my 2 cents which I do think you asked for! LOL.

Have Fun! It's way cute! Lauri

I definitely like number two best. I can not believe you are so talented. I would love to be able to do something like that!
