Looking up

We went camping for the first time since Ellie was born (and probably even for a good bit before that, too). The best part was how excited she was over everything. All my other kids have balked about using the pit toilets, but not her (wonderful echo in there).

She loved everything about camping, especially the canoe. Okay, and maybe the roasted Starbursts too.

It's hard to beat a mountain sunset.

Or lakes of glass.

Despite the run ins with 2nd degree burns on the fire grate, stinging nettle, anaphylaxis, and major hives we had a delightfully dirty, smoky, delicious time.

With this sort of view everywhere you turn it's sort of hard not to forget your troubles and just enjoy yourself.

Something else, all three of the older kids borrowed my camera and ended up taking variations on the following two photos -

Sunburst in the trees

And looking up.

Which reminds me, things really are looking up.

Now, does anybody have a sure fire method for getting that campfire smell out of your hair?
