Sometimes, really wonderful things happen

I'm excited to share the bit of wonderful that's happening to us. Yes, yes you've known it all along, the hormone haze is all a result of an IUD gone awry and we're expecting again. Actually, that's exactly what I'd expect to happen in our very unpredictable lives and maybe it would be wonderful it it did, but I'm thankful not to know - -because that's not it.

What it really is is that some wonderful people are sponsoring my kids at an adventure camp back East before school starts up again. I'm not exactly sure which details I can share, but they get to go have fun (rock-climbing, kayaking, crafts, etc?) from 8-4 for five days while I go shopping with my sister.

This sort of thing does not happen in our lives - fairy tale miracles are not usually the kinds of things that plop out of the sky for us, but we are happy to live someone else's life, for a moment, if it means they (miracles plopping out of the sky) do.

In fact, my kids (and I) are so used to putting life on hold due to the medical needs of their older brother, it will be great for them to have some time geared just for them and for me to have some quality time with my sister. Thank you, thank you for making this happen! (And also Hallelujah! that we have internet, for the moment, so I can share it with you).

Because we've never been to Maryland before we're going to fit in a few extra days for some sight-seeing. I'm hoping to take them to DC and do touristy type things, but even if we don't we'll have a wonderful time hanging out with my sis and her family. And yes, I will be snapping tons of photos. And you will most likely be subject to them. Most likely.
